Exhale / Spearfishing course
Exhale Spearfishing Course

No payment is taken for an enquiry. Dates, suitability, inclusions, the total payable and booking terms are confirmed first.
Bring home better habits. The fish can come second.
There is more to spearfishing than getting down and pulling the trigger. Learn to plan a dive, understand the conditions, handle your equipment responsibly and make better decisions with a buddy beside you.
What the course covers
Equipment selection and checks, speargun safety, dive planning, buddy communication, efficient movement, fish identification, responsible shot selection and looking after your catch. We also cover how to check current local fishing rules, size and catch limits, protected areas and closures before heading out.
Skills you can use on your next dive
The emphasis is on awareness, control and useful feedback, not a guaranteed catch or a promise to dive deeper. The practical programme and site are matched to the group’s experience and the conditions.
Who it suits
People building their spearfishing skills, including those who already dive and want to review their approach. Tell us about your swimming confidence, freediving training and recent experience. A PADI Freediver course may be the better first step before open water spearfishing.
NZ$650 per person
Dates, location, duration, participant requirements and equipment or boat arrangements are confirmed with each intake. The full offer will set out inclusions, any additional charges, the total payable and cancellation terms before payment.
This is an Exhale skills course. It is not advertised as a PADI certification or specialty qualification. Catch is not guaranteed. Never freedive alone.
Questions about suitability or the right starting point? Talk to Brendon or Craig before committing. General enquiry forms are not the place for medical details.
